- In some cases, it will stop your ovaries from releasing an egg.
You should take Noriday at the same time each day, beginning on the first day of your period.
Please note that a contraceptive pill like Noriday will only protect you from becoming pregnant. It does not work to stop you from catching sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Only condoms can do this.
Who can take Noriday?
Do not take Noriday without speaking to your doctor first if any of the following applies to you:
- You are allergic to norethisterone or any other medicines
- You are currently suffering from any illness
- You are taking any other medicine
- You have liver tumours or active liver disease
- You are pregnant or think you might be pregnant
- You have ever had any acute or chronic liver diseases, such as jaundice or tumours
- You have suffered from jaundice or pruritus during pregnancy
- You have any unexplained vaginal bleeding
- You have, have ever had, or think you may have any hormone-dependent cancer of the breast, cervix, vagina, or womb
- You have heart disease, or you have had a stroke
- You have blood clots (thrombosis)
- You have never had a period or suffer from lack of periods
- You have any lipid metabolism disorders
- You have inflamed veins
